When you have to give a presentation you get yourself looking presentable. Most people will put on some smart clothes and some deo, some will have their hair cut, almost everyone will at least brush their teeth.

Have you ever wondered why? What does you hair or breath have to do with your message?
They have absolutely everything to do with your message, for one simple reason:
You do not want to be remembered as the guy who spoke last week with the wrinkled shirt, or the messy hair or the BO, because in that case your message would be lost and that is what people will remember.
Your lack of identity is a massive distraction for your message.

It's exactly the same reason why you need a logo, and not just any logo but a great logo. Like your professional appearance your logo makes or breakes the believability of your business, it either supports your message or it detracts from your message.

One of the biggest mistakes passionate business owners make is to neglect their logo, falsely believing that everyone cares as much as they do about their great product, innovation or service.
"It's so good the idea alone will sell itself, I don't need a fancy logo," or,
"look we are way ahead of our competition so we just need a small, simple logo, not very expensive.
"
I think the exact opposite:

if your message is that good, you'd better present it on a fantastic logo!

A logo is not a badge you put on a great product or service; a logo is a platform that a great product or service stands on. A logo is not the bait to your great service, a logo is the hook.

Logo's carry brands, brands don't carry logos just like a professional appearance carries a presentation, a presentation does not carry a professional appearance.

The Access Brand Development portfolio is a selection of some of the logos we have created, specifically chosen to show how much time and care must be taken to create a platform specific for each client's message.

Next we'll look at selecting a name for a domain and why your business must own it's own webspace; and after that we'll look at working with a professional logo designer and choosing a logo.
